Summer Reading

This year’s summer reading program will run Monday’s from June 13 thru Aug. 8. Youngsters can come to the Book Room from 10:30 to 11:30 am all summer long.


New Benches

A huge thank you to Delmar Thompson for his donation of 10 new concrete park benches for the front lawn of the Community Center. You will soon have the opportunity to adopt one of these benches with a plaque placed on the seat.


Community Garage Sale

On Tuesday, June 14 at 6:30 there will be a meeting to begin planning for a New Troy Garage Sale hopefully sometime this summer. New member Dustin Falzone has jumped in with both feet to head up this project. Come join and offer to help put a great sale together.



Those of you who may have visited out website know it is sorely out of date. In the next few weeks the site will undergo a complete renovation with new current info and pictures. Tim Dawson has generously offered to update our site with assistance from several members. Keep checking the site at www.friendsofnewtroy.org and watch it’s transformation.


Rain Garden Coming

Work has begun on our new rain garden at the rear and NW corner of the center. If you want to help out contact Terry Hanover and he’ll be more than happy to put you to work on a unique garden.


eScript Cards

The cards are well under way with over 80 people helping out. All you need to do is show your card when you purchase groceries at any Harding’s Market and FoNT receive a donation. If you need a card or know someone who does contact Lorraine Hanover.


Giving Tree Campaign Fund

The Giving Tree continues to sprout leaves in the entry of the Community Center. Pledge $1000.00 towards paying off the mortgage will have your name engraved on a brass leaf and permanently mounted on the hand carved tree. Contact any board member for more info.



The Keep Our Planet Earth Green donation box is located in the Community Center entrance for recycling.


Party Plans?

Have a birthday, reunion, graduation, wedding, or other party coming up and looking for a place to host it? How about the New Troy Community Center? Rent either the
regular meeting room (great for smaller groups) or the Community Room (gym)
which can easily handle over 100 people. The kitchen is also available for any Community
Room rental. For info and available dates call 269-426-4096.

Also, anyone interested in a long term rental of our former exercise / flea market
room give us a call.
